Thien Hau Pagoda is one of the Chinese pagodas in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city) which was recognized as National Architectural Heritage Site on January 7th 1993. It was built in about 1976 by a group of Chinese. The pagoda is located on the central of Big Market.

The main Palace
Thien Hau Pagoda bears the Chinese traditional style including 3 palaces: front palace, mid-palace, and behind palace. Each palace was well decorated with floral pattern, horizontal lacquered boards, and parallel sentences… the ceramic statues and furniture in pagoda was made by Buu Nguyen and Dong Hoa kilns in 1908.

Cho Lon
The first palace worship Phuc Duc Thanh Tran and Mon Quan Ta Vuong. Here we can see the legend of Thien Hau Thanh Mau and the pictures about her appearances. The Mid – palace has a Urn that was made in the 12th year of Quang Tu (1886). The main palace was called Thien Hau palace where Thien Hau, Kim Thoa and Long Mau are worshiped. Thien Hau statue was molded from a chuck of wood in the last long time. All statues here were well decorated. Besides, there are about 400 antiquities in the Thien Hau pagoda, including: 7 statues of Gods, 6 stone statues, 9 steles, 2 small bells,… they all were carefully crafted with sophisticated shapes.

People pray in the pagoda
Cho Lon Pagoda welcomes a lot of people visit and pray everyday, especially on the 1st and 15th every month and the Chinese Tets. The 23rd Lunar March is the main festival of Thien Hau Pagoda.Thien Hau Pagoda is one of the oldest pagodas in Ho Chi Minh city. Beside architectural values, we can find cultural value here that is the mutual coalition and assistance people here.
